The Tibia Fusus (also known as the Shinbone Tibia) is an unusual looking Gastropod Mollusc well sought after for it’s long canal.

Abundance: Common (especially around the Philippines

Habitat: Muddy sea beds in tropical, deep waters

Distribution:  Indo-Pacific

Shell size range (in): 6 – 12 1/2

Appearance: Brown slender shell (cream coloured on the underside) with a needle-shaped siphonal canal

The Tibia Fusus is popular among shell collectors for it has one of the longest siphonal canal among the entire gastropod family. They are well sought after especially if this delicate canal is complete and not damaged. The canal itself amounts to around 40% of the whole shell.
